Chicken Cordon Bleu Burgrito

Ever since I had Chicken Cordon Bleu in Switzerland on my honeymoon, I’ve been a big fan. There’s just something magical about the flavour combination of chicken, mustard, ham/prosciutto, and emmentaler cheese. So, we play around with the idea quite a bit. For this one, we blended our Chicken Cordon Bleu Burgers with our Burgrito concept.

We started by building our chicken patties. We seasoned them before cooking them on a griddle. Then, we layered our whole grain dijon, some sauteed onions, prosciutto, and emmentaler cheese before wrapping it up and browning our burrito wraps on the griddle to make them crispy. We then served them with some sauteed zucchini to complete our meal!

Time: 35 Minutes

Ingredients:

  • Ground Chicken
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Onion Powder
  • Onion
  • Mustard Seeds
  • Whole Grain Dijon Mustard
  • Swiss Cheese
  • Prosciutto
  • Burrito Tortilla

Method:

  • Slice your onion.
  • Combine your ground chicken, salt, pepper, onion powder, and mustard seeds in a bowl. Mix to fully incorporate your seasonings.
  • Heat a griddle with a little oil. Form your patties, and cook them fully on your griddle. Cook your onions on the griddle as well, and cook until they soften and start to caramelize.
  • As your burgers cook, prep your tortillas.
    • Spread some whole grain dijon in a circle in the middle of each tortilla.
    • Slice and place your cheese over your mustard.
    • Arrange a slice of ham or prosciutto on the cheese.
    • Layer your onion and burger over the prosciutto or ham.
    • Add one more slice of prosciutto or ham, and fold your tortilla.
  • Place your tortillas folded side down on your griddle. Cook until that side gets crispy and golden brown.
  • Flip, and cook the other side to the same point.
  • Plate, devour, and enjoy!
