A coworker was telling our team about goat cheese croquettes she made in a cooking class before the holidays…and since we like goat cheese, we were intrigued and thought we should give it a try! So, we bought a couple of packs of herbed goat cheese, breaded, and fried! And it worked really well! The goat cheese remains soft and unmelted while the breading delivers a nice bit of crunchy shell for each bite.
While we used herbed chevre, we think using a cranberry or honey infused variety and then dipping the fried morsels in honey would also figure to make a great hors d’oeuvre!

Time: 20 Minutes
Ingredients:
- Chevre. 4 oz makes 7-8 balls.
- All Purpose Flour
- Egg
- Unseasoned Bread Crumbs
Method:
- Set three bowls on your counter. Add all purpose flour into the first, beat an egg in the second, and pour some bread crumbs in the third.
- Cut your goat cheese into 7-8 slices, and roll each slice into a ball.
- Working one at a time, coat your goat cheese balls in flour, then egg, then bread crumbs. Set aside, and continue until all of your goat cheese is coated.
- Heat some oil in a large cast iron pan or Dutch Oven.
- When your oil is hot, use tongs to arrange your goat cheese in your pan. Fry for a minute or two on each side until they are golden brown.
- When they’re ready, remove your cheese balls from the pan, and set on a paper towel.
- Plate, devour, and enjoy!
