We heard from a friend a little while back that you can grate a block of Paneer and use it for all sorts of things beyond the traditional cubes. Well, they were right! For our first foray into the world of shredded paneer, we thought we’d make a Pizza (as that’s one of the first things that comes to mind when we think of grated cheese).
Knowing that we were going to spread paneer atop a pizza, we started building the rest, and we decided to use Naan as our crust. Then, we decided to use a Tikka Masala sauce because it’s tomato based and contains seasonings that complement the naan and the paneer. This way, all the flavours would complement each other, and the end product would look like a rustic cheese pizza!

Time: 20 Minutes (more if making your Naan or sauce from scratch)
Ingredients:
- Naan (Store Bought/Premade or Make Your Own)
- Tikka Masala. If making your own, you’ll need:
- Garam Masala
- Onion
- Tomato Paste
- Heavy Cream or Coconut Milk
- Paneer
Method:
- Place your pizza stone in the oven, and preheat to 375 degrees F.
- If making the sauce from scratch, dice your onion, and sautee it in a little butter with garam masala. Then, when your onions are opaque, add in some tomato paste and heavy cream, and stir to combine. Bring to a simmer. If using jarred sauce, skip this step!
- Grate your paneer with the shredding plate of your food processor or your box grater.
- When your paneer and sauce are ready, pull your pizza stone out of the oven, and place your naan atop.
- Scoop and spread your tikka masala sauce atop your naan.
- Sprinkle your grated paneer over your sauce.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Plate, devour, and enjoy!
