Maple Pumpkin Dog Treats

Happy New Year! We figured we’d start 2024 off with a post for the pups! This particular one was inspired by our recent trip to Banff…specifically the Maple Syrup component! So, with Christmas approaching, we made a large batch of these cookies to give to all the dogs in the family! The key thing here is that you must use 100% Pure Maple Syrup (not the kind with chemicals)…but when you do, your dogs will absolutely love these! We find it amazing how four simple ingredients can come together to make our dogs so happy.

Time: 45 Minutes (longer if using Fresh Pumpkin)

Ingredients:

  • 1 Can of Pureed Pumpkin
  • 1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 3 Tablespoons of Flax Meal
  • 1-1.5 Tablespoons 100% Pure Maple Syrup (do not use the type with any other ingredients in it)

Method:

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F, and line a few baking sheets with nonstick foil. If using regular foil, give the foil a quick olive oil spray to prevent sticking.
  • Scoop your pumpkin out of the can and into a mixing bowl.
  • Add your flour and flax meal to your pumpkin, and pour in your maple syrup. Stir/Fold your mixture to completely combine your ingredients.
  • Use two spoons (we used tiny spoons) to form little dough balls on your baking sheet(s).
  • Bake for 20 minutes. Then, flip your cookies and bake on the other side for another 20 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, and allow to cool completely.
  • Have your dog sit, devour, and enjoy!
