Olverindulgence Hawaiian Pizza

I got a hankering for Hawaiian Pizza the other day when it came up in conversation. However, since nobody in my house accepts pineapple as a pizza topping, I had to wait for a “personal pizza” night to make it happen. Normally, Hawaiian Pizza is made with ham and pineapple (two ingredients one thinks of when they think of Hawaiian cuisine)…but being me, I decided to mess with it a little and swap the ham out for a different salty pork product: Bacon! That decision added a little crispiness and smokiness to the toppings, and it worked well. I also strayed from traditional with the addition of black olives…that’s just a pure personal choice, and they’re completely optional, but they did complement the other toppings surprisingly well. Lastly, since I’m a big fan of spicy/sweet combo, I added some red pepper flakes on top to bring a little heat to each bite!

We served our pizzas with a spinach side salad (where the rest of the olives were used as well).
